1 February is election day: your internal register cannot improvise
On Sunday 1 February 2026 Costa Rica elects a president, vice-presidents, and legislators, 6:00 to 18:00, in a continuous day. The Supreme Electoral Tribunal runs that process. This piece is not candidate analysis. It is an operations reminder: the same institution the country watches that week is the source of the national ID your systems should query all year.
Health, education, credit, and retail still dump sign-ups on Friday the 30th as if it were any Friday. If the form does not validate against the registry, Monday the 2nd you have extra dirt and a distracted team. ApifyConnect TSE is the rail so identity is not typed blind. Consulting belongs when nobody owns “who may create a user.”
What not to do that week
- Mass CRM migrations on Friday afternoon.
- WhatsApp campaigns that ask for ID in chat to “verify the vote” — that is not your job, and it is a fraud vector.
- Turning validation off “because there is a queue.” The queue does not justify a dirty register.
Tuesday the 3rd the country continues. So does your database, with whatever you let in.
Identity in a campaign is news. Identity in the system is Tuesday.
If February sign-ups cannot wait for a human, integrate validation before Friday. The API does not do politics. It stops duplicates.
